The plants in my little orto are under attack! The recent new additions – some brussel sprouts and fennel- have had their leaves ripped off and all that's left are some stalks. I immediately suspected porcupine, who are know to be partial to a bit of veg. (And my bulbs!)
I thought I had plugged up all the holes under the fence, but I have now noticed a hole under the garden gate. It honestly, seriously does not look big enough for a porcupine to get through, as they are quite big beasties, but yesterday the evidence was unequivocal – a QUILL. They must flatten themselves out somehow then do a kind of porcupine limbo all the way over to my veggie patch!
Well, watch out Mr Porcupine as I am now wise to you and am going to block up the hole tonight. The free lunch is over buddy. This is war!
